5 MOST CRUEL FOREIGN RULERS OF INDIA!!

 

                           Only determined to fulfill their motives and desire and showing no pity or mercy to others is the definition of "RUTHLESS", and the history of India has seen many rulers and invaders who are the true embodiment of this word. These rulers had only one thing in mind and that is to impose and expand their power on others by any means possible. These rulers were not at all hesitant to massacre entire popullations when the people did not accept their rule.
                                     Many of these rulers when conquering an area, killed people left and right, captured womens and childrens to put them in harems, killed men who belonged to a different religion and didn't accept theirs. They were the demons who spawned hell under their rule and gave human history a very dark turn. Today, let's take a look on 5 of the most cruel foreigners who ruled India!

5. ALAUDDIN KHILJI (reign:1296-1316 AD)

People killed during rule: 1-2 million

                         The 2nd ruler of the Khilji dynasty who ruled the Dehi Sultanate from 1296 to 1316. He was one of the most brutal and cruel rulers of the Dellhi sultanate and showed no mercy on anyone who came in the way of his expansion.  His reign mostly comprised of raiding multiple kingdoms and killing thousands of Kings and soldiers, capturing people and making them slaves, cpturing wives and children of killed kings and generals and putting them in brothels, looting wealth of Kingdoms after victory and many such evil acts. During his rule he also destroyed many Hindu and Buddhist temples and monestries. He invaded the kingdom of chittor and killed king Rawal Ratan Sen due to which his wife Rani Padmavati comitted "Jauhar" with 1,600 other women.

4. BABUR (reign:1526-1530 AD)

People killed during rule: 1-2 million

                         Zahir ud-Din Muhammad, who later due to his barbarism was recognized as Babur, defeated Ibrahim Lodi who ruled the Delhi Sultanate in the 1st batte of Panipat and the first thing he did after victory was he ordered the massacre of the citizens of Delhi. Brutality was a part of his genetics as he was the great-great grandson of Timur, another ruthless ruler. He also destroyed and demolished thousands of temples and made people to forcefully accept Islam and killed those who revolted. He raided many kingdoms and fought battles, looted cities and imposed cruel laws and taxes for people of other religions. A foreign invader who replaced another foriegn ruler and made the conditions of the normal people even more terrifying.

3. TIMUR (reign:1336-1405 AD)

People killed during rule: 17 million worldwide

                          Claimed to be a Turco-Mongol, he was the founder of the Timurid dynasty. He claimed ancestory with Ghenghis Khan and considered him as a role model. He conquered most of the Central Asia, Afganistan and part of northern India till Delhi. He Invaded India in 1398 and attacked Delhi. He defeated Nasir-ud-Din Mahmud Shah Tughluq, sultan of the Tughluq dynasty. His army massacered the people of Delhi for many hours straight after victory. Timur killed 2000 Jats and even captured many of them while marching towards delhi. Rajput ruler of Bhatner king Dulachand with his united army of Rajputs and Muslims resisted Timur and fought, But Timur defeated and slaughtered every one to the last man, looted and Burned Bhatner.

2. AURANGZEB (reign:1658-1707 AD)

People killed during rule: 5-6 million 

                          Muhi-ud-Din Muhammad, commonly known by the nickname Aurangzed was by far the most cruel Mughal emperor and probably the most ruthless emperor in Indian history. To become the 6th Mughal emperor, he killed his own brothers and even capture his father Shah Jahan. His reign was the most darkest period of history for the Hindu and Sikh communities of India. Under his rule people were forced to convert to Islam or else they were brutally punished or executed. He ordered giant massacres of Hindu Gurus and created new, more gorious and brutal ways of executing them. He also executed Guru Teg Bahadur, a prominant Sikh Saint. He inforced the Shariya laws and reimposed the Jaziya tax which was cancelled by earlier Mughal rulers. He even destroyed and looted thousands of Hindu temples including the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple.

1. BRITISH RULERS (reign:1757-1947)

People killed during rule: 60-100 million

                          Hands down the most cruel rulers the land of India has ever witnessed were the Britishers who leeched India for more than 2 centuries. They were far more brutal than any other foreign rulers, whether they were the Turks, mughals or Afgans. The Britishers thought of India as their Jaagir, entering the subcontinent merely for trade and later imposing their rule on the entire region. For 200 years they exploited India, looted the natural resources of the country, deprived the citizens and forced them in labour and slavery. By the end of their rule, the Britishers had severly crashed the GDP of India form 33% of world GDP to merely 2%. They by the end of their rule looted wealth equal in worth to today's 45 trillion dollars from India. Artificial and manmade famines were created during the British Raj which resulted in the death of millions of Indians, the artificially created Bengal femine alone resulted in the death of more than 10 million people. The British rule was the darkest period of the entire history of the Indian subcontinent.
